Equities should remain preferred asset class

Mining shares are unloved at the moment, but we think their valuation is quite attractive - Despite huge returns not being expected from equities over the next five years, they should remain the preferred asset class of investors over the longer term, says Alwyn van der Merwe, director of investments at Sanlam Private Investments (SPI).
